The Erie Count WWII Memorial,  honors the 727 from Erie County Pennslyvania that were lost during WWII.
It is located at the intersection of Glenwood Park Avenue and State Street in the center of Erie, Pa.

The north face of the memorial list the names of those lost, and the isignias of the branches of the various military services, including the Merchant Marines. The center insignia is the 'Rupture Duck".  It is was awarded to all of those who served and were honorably discharged.

The south side of the memorial is a brief pictorial history of the war and features photographs of some of those safely returned home after the war.

 Two Hundred and Forty of those listed on the memorial were never returned home for burial. They rest in Military Cemetaries around the world, or in resting places know but to God. For them, this is their final resting place in the communiyt they grew up in, and left the serve their nation and fellow man.
